everyone would want them) The quad has been used by us for a while now doing odd jobs and with the gangs in the summer. It has only done 1324 hours which is nothing for a quad of this age, and 7820 miles which is 12585 km (the clock is in km/hours) It had 4 new tyres on it last year and it`s barely been used since so they are pritty much brand new still. Also a new battery as the other wasn`t great after being sat for a while. It`s very clean and tidy and been well looked after. It also has a 12v socket power outlet. All of the lights work and the brakes are great, although the foot one sticks a little as it`s been stood a while. The poor bits to note are; The seat has a few rips shown in the pic. The horn does not work. And it has scuffs on the plastics from general use but certainly no cracks. Reason for sale is we now have a compact tractor and cutter and also a ride on mower to collect the cuttings. If you look at the other items i`ve listed you can see a few mowers which are also for sale as they are no longer needed. I`ll clean the quad by the end of the auction. in western supermare beech race,were i think it would of got hole shot and won the first mile. i have had a 110 mph out of it ,then my bottle went,with still plenty to go. it does 95mph in 2nd gear and there is 6 gears. I have somewhere the receipt for the 500 hour service done a month or two ago The hours on the bike are 525 and around 2230k which is nowt for a honda, the speedo doesnt seem to display the hours and milage but the neutral, reverse and oil temp light works fine, its probably a lose connection somewhere! has been owned from new and it has only had about 4 hours use. This model has brakes all round front and rear, proper shocks and suspension, as you can see in the photos it is in excellent condition. No pre mixing of the fuel. Unleaded petrol in the fuel tank and oil in the small tank under the seat, very easy. There is a safety lanyard cord on the rear, so you can follow the Quad around at walking pace and pull the cord should you need to and the bike cuts out straight away. The throttle can be controlled by means of the throttle limiter, it can be adjusted to pull away very slowly and maintain a slow even pace and can be easily adjusted to go faster, if you wish to. It has fully enclosed foot area, as you can see in the photos, unlike some other models the rider puts their foot on the bike and the wheel cannot get anywhere near to them. The chassis has been treated with stone chip paint to protect from rust and chip damage, there is some minor rust on some of the brackets but nothing on the main chassis. The quad isnt road legal. It is powered by a 400cc, 4 stroke, Honda petrol engine with electric start, safety switch, disc brakes all round, chain drive, mono suspension shcok at the rear and two shocks to the front all in good condition...Krieger chrome exhaust, extra wide footplates and hand/foot brake... The bike has two headlights up front with high and low beam easily operated from the handle bars and a rear tail light all of which are working...the plastic is in good condition with a couple of minor rubs marks and one small break by headlight, as shown in photos, although this is difficult to see...the tryes and rims are in good conditon with plenty of wear left in all tyres, chrome rims are also in good condition...as is the seat which is in Honda racing red with no rips or tears...finally this bike is in great condtion and is alot of fun... I have tried to cover everything although any questions please ask, the bike will have to be either pick up only or delivery can be arranged through local delivery man/ courrier if needed at an extra cost, with cash on collection and a £100 deposit into paypal when the auction ends...there is no reserve on this and no buy it now... looks impressive, sounds impressive and most importantly it will knock the socks off any competition. The bike is running a kawaski ninja 750 starts first time every time, sounds very nice with no nasty knocks or rattles. Looking round the bike there are a few items that could do with addressing, for one there are no air filters and never have been, it hasnt caused me any problems but its one thing that needs doing. It also wouldnt hurt to have some paint round the frame nothing major but wear and tear marks. I`ve just put a fresh oil and filter using shell helex advanced 10w40. The bike has a full set of lights including brake lights indicators and hazards. If the bike could be road registered everything seems to be there ready for it. Alloy nerf bars and road tyres. Farming, Small holding etc. The engine is a 400cc Yanmar diesel aircooled 4 stroke which starts and runs a treat in fact she purrs, a tank of red or white diesel wil last for ever and with no major electrics or water to worry about servicing is to a minimum. Because the gearbox is automatic anybody can drive this quad, she has hi, low, reverse and neutral, it`s a nice smooth drive. The Quad can be put in 4x4 or 2x4 with a flick of a switch so getting stuck is something that doesn`t happern. Heavy duty front and rear carry racks will hold a lot of weight. The brakes are great but then they should be with discs on the front to each wheel, disc on the gearbox and for good measure two heavy duty calipers on the rear axle. The quad can pull a lot of weight around a ton, 50mm towball fitted & front tow hook. All the lights work apart from the dash bulbs, but I have the new bulbs. The suspension and drive sprockets are in good condition and are greased regularly. The Plastics are in good condition with a few small marks which you would expect to find on a machine of this nature. The seat is in very good condition. The tyres are low on tread but if like us you use it on grass or gravel they have lots of life in them yet. I have the key and tool pack. a wide arch kit and alloy mini light wheels with road legal brittish kite mark tyres. It`s just had a new cv joint on the front + 2 cv boots on the rear, brake pads all the way round, it`s also had new engine oil + filter, it also has a stainless steel bar at the front. It has got a winch but it is broken but i have left it on and all the wireing so you can just bolt a new one on.The quad comes with 4 new road legal bear crawl tyres ,which have got the e mark on which you need for PLG quads.It also comes with a genuine yamaha kit bag which is water proof which cost £250.The plastics have got the usual wear and tear but nothing serious, there are no cracks at all. It`s got a new exhaust tip on which makes it sound really nice but not too loud,It`s also been jetted which makes it pull really well. Everything works as it should ,no smoke, bangs or rattles.This quad has done extremely low hours + miles,it`s really done nothing.You would be hard to find a quad in this condition in this year, i`m dam certain you won`t. This bike is a 1989 model and features the following:- 200cc Air cooled engine Electric start Lights Park Brake Carry Racks Reverse Rear Storage Towbar This type of quad is very easy to ride and would be a good asset to any farmer/smallholder as it benefits such a strong and robust engine. Condition The overall condition for this quad is SIMPLY STUNNING for its age and yet another bike that I would definately say has`nt been abused so has a lot more years to serve. There are a few very minor scuffs on the plastics and I would really like to stress how minor they are as well as a mark on the inside rear fender as seen in the pictures (marking paint) that I have already removed most of but this is simply from general wear and tear. 250 is 229cc`s where as the 225 is 223cc`s ( marked base of the cylinder nearside ) She is a proper utility / work quad not a kid`s toy, but has the benefit of being quite compact & as such would be ideal as a first "Adult" quad for a youth or female or for someone not confidant on a larger machine, that said I`m 6 foot-15 stone & fit fine. It`s simple to ride, very stable & can be impressivly quick when safe to do so. She`s 2 wheel drive, 4-stroke air cooled, 5 speed with high / low ratio`s & reverse, shaft drive, electric start with pull start back up ( fitted with a decompressor so easy peasy to pull over if ever needed) theres a std tow ball and it can pull a good weight. I bought it back in 2006 but soon discovered a lot of bodge ups, so in spring 2007 decided to do a full rebuild (using genuine yamaha parts) - shotblasted frame, new suspension bushes & bearings all round, new wheel bearings, new brakes, all new cables. Full engine strip, new piston & rings, valves reground, new cam shaft, cam chain & tensioners, gear change lever, gear shaft, clutch, oil pump, oil filter, air filter etc so mechanically she`s pretty much perfect. It has not been raced but has been used off road a few times so the paintwork has been marked where my boots have rubbed and there is a small mark in the paintwork where a winch cable has been hooked but you can barely see it (i tried to photograph but couldn`t get it to show up in the pics. it has very low engine hours. Oil was changed after every ride. there is a scuff on the front end sticker (pictured) this is where a pit bikes handlebar rubbed against it whilst they where been transported together in the back of the van. The airbox lid and exhaust baffles have been removed due to installing a cherry bomb (thought i would need it as i was going to race) but they are included with the bike and can be re-installed within a few minutes. the amont of tread left on the original tyres shows how little use it has had.
